A Retrospective Histopathological Study of Non-Melanocytic Skin Tumors

Background: Three most frequent primary skin cancers are basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous (SCC) and malignant melanoma. Together SCC BCC referred to as non-melanoma (NMSC). NMSCs comprise of 1-2% all diagnosed in India contrast one-third whites. represents 30%-65% blacks Indians, whereas contributes 65%-75% whites.
 Methods: Total 100 cases Non-melanocytic Tumors were studied retrospectively by paraffin section H&E staining.
 
 Result: A histopathological study non-melanocytic tumors was carried out Department pathology, B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad over a period two years from January 2015 December 2017. Out cases, histopathologically 57 benign 43 lesions. Among lesions, 31 (55%) epidermal origin, 10 (17%) appendageal origin 16 (28%) soft tissue origin. 37 (87%) 04 (09%) lymphoma, 01 (2%) leiomyosarcoma metastatic carcinoma.
 Conclusion: Unlike the western countries, Squamous is commonest histologic variety. Diagnosis tumor can be done correlating clinical features, gross appearances. In some rare entities problems differential diagnosis may solved with help immunohistochemical and/or electron microscopic studies.
